Special clinical interests: Minimally invasive cancer surgery, such as minimally invasive oesophagectomy and gastrectomy. Endoscopic mucosal resection for early oesophageal cancer and radiofrequency ablation of oesophagus for Barrett’s with high grade and low grade dysplasia.
Research interest: Projects pertaining to perioperative care for cancer surgery, oesophageal and gastric cancer surgery, and endoscopic treatments (RFA and EMR) for early cancer
Professional profile: I am a consultant oesophagogastric cancer and laparoscopic surgeon. I am also the Upper GI cancer Lead for Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. I did my fellowship in Minimally invasive oesophagectomy (MIO) at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, USA with Professor J Luketich who pioneered the surgery. This is the biggest centre in the world for MIO. I was also trained in Barrett’s surveillance, Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) for early oesophageal cancer by Professor B Jobe in Pittsburgh, USA.
