Our team provide high quality local support for Norfolk NHS GP and Dental Practices free at the point of use.
With our proven understanding of the strict occupational health requirements of the healthcare sector and our knowledge of CQC Registration requirements, Workplace Health & Wellbeing is best placed to provide your Practice with expert occupational health support to fully protect the health of your team.
From experience, we appreciate the health sector has highly specific requirements. Equally we understand the needs of Practices to operate commercially and effectively. Sensitive to this we have developed a range of occupational health services to support each local NHS Practice. We offer all local NHS Practices the full spectrum of occupational health services found on Introducing Occupational Health. In addition, we provide specialist Health Care Worker (HCW) advice and guidance including:-
- Occupational Immunisations suitable for HCWs undertaking EPP
We can ensure your team understand the requirements for Exposure Prone Procedures.
EPP screening is where workers gloved hands may be in contact with sharp instruments, needletips or sharp tissues (spicules of bone or teeth) inside a patients open cavity, wound or confined anatomical space where the hands or fingertips may not be completely visible at all times.
Occupational Immunisation screening for HCW’s
We offer enhanced screening for those employees who are coming to work in the UK from high incident TB areas. Other immunisations HCWs will require include: Chicken Pox – screening and vaccination, MMR – vaccination, Hepatitis B vaccination and screening for those in contact with Blood and Body fluids
- Needlestick/Blood borne incident support.
We offer access to immediate risk assessment and provision of PEP between 8:30am and 5pm each working day. Out of hours we have an arrangement with all local A&E departments to provide the emergency care which we then pick up on the next working day. A poster to be displayed in the Practice to inform staff how to access suitable emergency support following an incident can be found here.
Keeping up-to-date with best practice
We offer up to date guidance and recommended changes to practice, in light of legislation. On a quarterly basis we provide all Practices with a Healthy Practices newsletter.
