Who’s who on our Council of Governors

Ed Aldus – Staff Governor – Clinical Support : Ed Aldus started at NNUH in 2004 as a radiology porter, to provide financial support for my time at university training as a radiographer. Currently a lead radiographer (therapy), I have worked in radiography for four years enjoying providing patient centred care.

Erica Betts – Public Governor – Breckland:  Erica Betts used to work as the Advocacy Coordinator for AgeUK, Cheshire representing people with dementia. Required working closely with health and social services.

Nick Brighouse – Public Governor – South Norfolk: Nick Brighouse OBE is married with four (now) adult children, and one stepdaughter who is at high school. He is a retired Practising Chartered Accountant.

Mr Neil BurgessStaff Governor – Medical: Mr Neil Burgess is a Consultant in Urology and represents medical staff on the Council of Governors.

Sue Burt – Staff Governor – Nursing and Midwifery: Sue Burt is a Sister and Emergency Nurse Practitioner in the Accident and Emergency Department at NNUH and has experience representing nurses having been a Steward for the Royal College of Nursing.

Brian CushionPublic Governor – Broadland: Brian Cushion has worked at the University of East Anglia, Addenbrookes, Cambridge, and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital during a 40 year finance career.

Terry Davies – Lead Governor – Staff Governor – Volunteers and Contractor Staff: Terry Davies has worked at NNUH for 21 years, firstly as a porter for 10 years gaining valuable experience in patient care. The last 11 years he has been a Unison officer, representing both volunteers and contractor staff.

Professor Diane DeBell –  Public Governor – Norwich:  Diane DeBell’s career has been in public health research with particular expertise in child, adolescent, and family care. She has conducted international research leading teams of staff in many parts of the world.

Dr Anoop Dhesi Appointed Governor: Clinical Commissioning Groups: Dr Anoop Dhesi is the Chair of North Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group which is responsible for commissioning NHS health services.

Nina Duddleston – Public Governor – Breckland:  Nina Duddleston is a retired nurse of forty years’ experience in both secondary and primary care. She has lived in Breckland for thirty years having moved to Norfolk as the wife of a serviceman.

Carol Edwards – Public Governor – North Norfolk: Carol Edwards recently retired as Deputy Director of Nursing at NNUH. She has been a nurse for 40 years, 15 years working at the Norfolk and Norwich and Cromer Hospitals. She is married, lives in Corpusty and has three adopted children, one with Learning Disabilities.

Sarah Ellis – Public Governor – Norwich:  Sarah Ellis retired from an integrated Health and Social Care management post in June 2016. As a qualified Occupational Therapist she is keen to offer her skills and experience from my life and career in an interesting role, to improve services for local people and be a public voice.

Shelia Ginty – Staff Governor – Nursing and Midwifery: Sheila Ginty has worked in the NHS as a nurse for over thirty years. Her career has been varied spanning most aspects of surgical specialities.

Ines Grote – Public Governor – Great Yarmouth and Waveney: Ines Grote qualified as a Chemistry and English teacher, ran her own business as owner and director of a riding centre in Germany before starting a family here in Norfolk.

Keith Jarvis Public Governor – North Norfolk: Keith Jarvis is retired and residing in Trunch, having been born and bred in North Norfolk. His career spans 39 years in the public sector, with 27 years working in various management roles within the Norfolk NHS.

Janet King – Public Governor – Broadland:  Janet King has lived in Norfolk for 75 years and knows Norwich and Norfolk extremely well being born, confirmed and married here.

John LaboucherePublic Governor – Breckland: John Labouchere has spent a lifetime in timber trade, church joiner, toy maker, Andean adventurer. He is a Fellow of Royal Geographical Society. Fellow Institute of Wood Science. Also, Chairman & MD of three manufacturing companies (1967-2007) all extant. Breckland District Councillor 16 years.

David McNeil – Public Governor for Broadland:  David McNeil has worked at national level at the Department of Health, NHS regional level and local level at both NHS Trusts and Foundation Trusts throughout the UK.

Mary PandyaPublic Governor – Rest of England:  Mary Pandya trained and worked for fourteen years as a Senior Staff Nurse at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Paul PostlePublic Governor – Norwich: Paul Postle is a retired nurse/paramedic with 37years experience of the health service, 28 of them spent in the accident and emergency dept of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, the remaining in various wards and departments.

Jane Scarfe – Deputy Lead Governor – Public Governor – South Norfolk: Jane Scarfe is a Rheumatoid Arthritis patient and Chair of THE RiNG – a social and support group for Norfolk RA patients– she is particularly interested in the long-term health conditions which are increasingly prevalent in our ageing population. She served on the Royal College of Physicians’ Patients and Carers’ Network, a Strategic Health Authority patients’ working party and is also a former journalist.

Councillor Brian Watkins – : Appointed Governor – Norfolk County Council: Brian is the County Councillor for the Eaton Division.

Vikki WormanStaff Governor for Admin and Clerical Staff: Vikki Worman is the Administration Manager in Cardiology.
